For much of the season it looked as though Cookham might just achieve the top four finish Manager Karl Curtis believed they were capable of - but the teams poor away form and a general lack of consistancy in front of goal eventually cost the side dearly. But finally finishing 11 points behind Champions South Reading does not tell the full story of a campaign that had seen Westwood lead the way for most of the season while Woodcote only really failed at the final hurdle behind a South Reading side that had the momentum and desire in the last few weeks to see them over the line. At the end of the day the Dean probably relied too much on Xavier's goals and despite some very good team performances we were much too inconsistant to get any closer to the top spot this time - but there was still plenty of improvement at the club from the previous season and the home form was superb this year - Manager Karl Curtis did a great job with the team and will no doubt be looking to push on again next season.
