Cookham Dean (Sunday) had a comfortable 5:1 win over Slough Sharks to progress to the next round of the League Challenge Cup, which they won last season. Leading goalscorer James Gisbourne was in great form and netted a hattrick with fellow striker Lee Jerum also getting on the score sheet and having a hand in two more goals. Gisbourne opened the scoring when put through by Dean Knight, with his fierce shot from a tight angle hitting the inside of the post before crossing the goal line. Lee Jerum's powerful shot could only be parried by the keeper and Gisbourne was quickest to react to the rebound to net his second. After the break Slough pulled a goal back from a corner but Cookham put the result beyond doubt with a fine team move finished in style by Josh Waldren who latched on to Jerum's precise pass. Jerum got a well deserved goal for the fourth after being put through by Dean Knight who led a quick counter attack. In the closing minutes Gisbourne claimed his hattrick with a shot from the edge of the area which was deflected past the Slough keeper.
