THE SENIOR SIDE
The club is very optimistic that the good times are just around the corner for the Senior side. Dave Clarke has stood firm in his beliefs of how Football should be played and how a side should be run. The club was very disappointed when eight players left the club 18 months ago, leaving a gapping hole in the squad that Clarkie had inherited from Terry Claydon.
To his credit, Dave Clarke kept the faith, faith that he and Cookham Dean FC could still attract good local players up to the club, but more importantly faith in his own ability to build a side that could challenge for honours, and continue the tradition of players who want to make a make a telling contribution while representing Cookham Dean.
In 2009/2010 the club had a steady start to the season and the players who had remained loyal to the club stood out on the field and even grew in stature.
Meanwhile Clarke has seen several of his promising youngsters develop nicely, and excitingly more good youngsters have joined the club since the new year.
You feel that the momentum is building at the club once again and you sense that once again it is a good place to be, a place where players will respond to good leadership so that they can then really enjoy their football and flourish.
