WELCOME TO THE SENIOR SIDES HOMEPAGE
The Cookham Dean first team has earned a reputation over the years for producing some strong teams and has been represented by many of the top local footballers from the area throughout its long and successful history.
The team were founder members of the Reading Senior Division and in the last ten years have finished every season in the top three positions of the competition.
As for Trophys in recent seasons the Senior side has won The Berkshire Senior Trophy Final at both Reading FCs old ground Elm Park and in 2005 the new Madejski Stadium in what was a cracking match with modern rivals Marlow United. In 2005/07 the side won the elusive Reading Senior Division Championship after being Runners up on no less than four occasions in the last ten years. In the 2006/07 it was always going to be tough to follow that achievment for the Dean, and in the end after a great top of the table battle Cookham finished in 3rd place with Ascot United securing the title on the last day of the Season with a thrilling victory away to runners up Highmoor.
However with a good squad of players under the passionate management of Terry Claydon there is always a chance that success in one competition or another could add another chapter to the exciting history of Cookham Dean FC before too long.

A PROUD HISTORY
HOW THE TEAM MADE HISTORY IN 2006
It was the last 20mins of the very last game of the 2005/06 season, probably the most significant and dramatic in the Reading Leagues 16-year existence, the two leading teams were playing for the Championship on the Final day of the season.
The score at the time was 2-2,
in any other circumstances an outstanding result away to the title holders, a result, which would have meant local rivals Marlow United were going to win the league.
It would have meant they had retained the Senior Division crown for a second term and it would have condemed Cookham Dean to finishing second for the third year in succession.
As the drama unfolded however it was the Dean who showed the necessary qualities to win an action packed game. When Player of the Year Mark Doswell headed home the decisive winning goal it became probably the most important goal ever scored for Cookham.
It was a game and a finale which you dream of when you are a player and for everyone involved with the club it was a truely memorable achievement.
For both teams to have been contesting the Championship on the very last day of the Season in such a thrilling manner
was fantastic, yet the biggest winners of all were not just Cookham Dean, but also this fine level of local football
ABOUT THE READING LEAGUE
The Reading Football League is the largest Saturday Football League in the Thames Valley, providing football from Park to Pyramid level. The League has six divisions, with the Senior being part of the National League System as a feeder to the Hellenic League.
Formed in 1988, the League brought together over 100 years of local football, with the merger of the Reading & District and Reading Combination Leagues.
In addition to the League programme, three Cup competitions are run, which are sponsored by the Berkshire Trophy Centre. Division 3 & 4 compete in the Junior, Division 1 & 2 in the Intermediate, and the Senior & Premier Divisions in the Senior competition, which has it's final played at the magnificent Madejski Stadium, home of Reading football Club.
